Over the past years the electrical safety of medical equipment has been a
area of attention of every biomedical engineer and technician. Not
in the least because of the new, more stringent, legislation following
the European Medical Device Directive 93/42EC that come into power
June 14th, 1998.
Several years ago AdQuipment medical b.v. has developed a training
on this issue. The course, based on the international standard IEC60601,
comprises a full presentation on the theory of the standards during the
morning and a pratical part to use the new insight on real life cases in
the afternoon. The course has already been organized more than twentyfive
times for our Dutch customers as well as several times in other countries.
More and more of the biomedical engineers have discovered the added value
of the Ansur program for streamlining their test and inspection work. The
possibility of combining several Fluke Biomedical and Metron analyzers in
a single automated protocol offers great advantages.
In order to use the full potential of the Ansur program, protocols will
have to be adapted and possibly created. Despite the ease of programming
by means of drag&drop, many still face difficulties in doing just
that. The structure of protocol and the complex test items are not always
immediately clear to the user. Also the communication with other systems
give rise to questions.
This training is aimed at giving the user a deeper understanding of the
Ansur structure with emphasis on the adaptation and creation of protocols.
During the hands-on part of this course the trainees translate a number
of written procedures to Ansur protocols.
After the course the user has better understanding of:
